Danny Anderson grew up in a small town in Southeast Texas. He began playing the guitar at age thirteen, and a year later he began playing in local bands. At age sixteen, Danny realized his influences, and was determined to reach their level of ability. His earliest influences included instrumental rock guitarists such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, and Progressive Rock bands Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes, and Dream Theater. Later influences included the music of Jazz greats John Coltrane and Miles Davis, along with fusion guitarists John Scofield and Mike Stern. At age twenty-two, after studying at a few local schools, Danny grew dissatisfied with state colleges and decided to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Danny was awarded Berklee's North American Scholarship, and graduated with a Professional Music Degree when he was twenty-four. While at Berklee, Danny began to reconcile the differences between his rock and jazz influences. Now twenty-five, Danny has returned to Texas where he is sharing his experiences as a teacher. As always, he remains passionate about creating music which is both heartfelt and virtuosic. |
